  1. Melt butter in large stockpot. Add onions, green pepper, celery and garlic. Sauté until tender but not brown. Add beef and pork. Stir occasionally until meat is cooked through and no pink remains.
  2. Add remaining ingredients except for beans. Mix well. Simmer at least 2 hours. Add kidney beans; heat for 10 minutes.
